The story of Heera Mandi is the story of the British India period.
Producer-director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has once again presented a contemporary narrative remember.

As soon as I saw this film, I wanted to read the historical documents of the background of the film.I came across novelist Rajendra Rajan's book "Heera Mandi" on Amazon and ordered it.
In this novel, Heera Mandi's narration begins with a conversation with two friends Boote, Barkat and Fazal ( a suspicious person, brothel pimp ) outside the cinema hall.
Both the friends understand that - "That person is none other than a broker of Hiramandi."
After a long consultation, with a mixture of fear and excitement, the two young men decide to go with the pimp.
They move in with the prostitutes' pimp, believing the prostitutes' "sex" to be an experiment.
They felt that they were going for an experiment and training which was going to be useful for their life.
In the book, the author has written Barkat's dialogue like this - "They need to unfold the mysteries about sex !"
The author's writing style seems bordering on hypnotism right from the beginning.
This story begins with the youth reaching Heera Mandi from the Palace Cinema Hall, which was also called Tibbi by the people of Lahore
During the British colonial period, the cities which were most talked about for the development of art, literature and culture were cities like Mumbai, Lahore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Agra.
For every brothel, there was a need for honest pimps, coachmen, music masters.
Even if they did not get a normal status in the society, such people were also available then.
When people of slave countries adopt the culture of their masters, then their slavery seems like virtue to them.
By that time, Britishness had become a factor in the rise of the newly wealthy. Nawabs, clerks, government servants, doctors, professors used to express their status symbols by wearing similar hats.
There is a lot of difference between the scene of the film Heera Mandi and the room described in the novel.
Sometimes I feel that - "It has been shown correctly in the film. Sometimes I feel that - "The condition of contemporary cities in Premchand's country will be as per the novel."
Gyan Ranjan says, "Text, i.e. books, are the best."
I am convinced that Gyan ji is absolutely right.”
The story is interesting and should be read. If you are on a journey of 3-4 hours then keep this book with you.
