What is the difference Thebetween Dharm & Religion ?
English language has its own compulsions.. This language has a lot of difficulty in deriving the meaning of words from other languages. English is the weakest language for the meaning of words from other languages. But it is simple enough that people feel comfortable accepting it as a communication language.
To understand the poverty of English, we need to understand its linguistic ability to define Dharma and religion.
According to various Indian scripts Dharma is not religion.
In my opinion Dharma does not mean religion.
Because dharma is an eternal ongoing practice.
People who believe in Dharma believe in the power of ब्रह्म or God.
According to my study, there are many religions in Sanatan Dharma including Shaiva, Vaishnava, Shakt, Aarsh, Etcetera. All these religions are part of Sanatan.
The basic content of Dharm is the belief in purity and divine elements. Whereas rituals and procedures are present in religion and sect.
Dharma says that we should worship God, Religions and sects tell us which method we should adopt for worship.
Nobody has established Dharma.
On the contrary, every religion or sect is founded by some great thinkers.
